Come and join us for the opportunity to enjoy Welsh tea and cake on the move, while travelling serenely through our beautiful Powys scenery in our elegant historic carriages.
On two dates this Summer, we’ll be serving you a light afternoon tea, with locally made sandwiches, Caerphilly cheese scones, bara brith and other local cakes*. Plus a choice of teas. You will travel one way in one of our tea cars. On the other leg you’ll enjoy the Edwardian elegance of one of the carriages built for the opening of our line. Our in-carriage steward will be happy to answer questions as you journey serenely through the rural landscape of mid Wales and there will be musical accompaniment.
Trains depart Llanfair Caereinion station at 13.50, and will return to Llanfair Caereinion by 16.30.
Tickets are priced at £24.50, and discounted fares are not available on this train. The first 32 customers to book on each train will be served tea in tour African First Class carriage. Other passengers will be served in the cosy ambience of our Austrian carriages that have proved so popular since we started running tea trains in 2016.
*Menu items subject to availability
Passengers with a mobility disability are welcome to spend the full journey in the Austrian carriages as our African and Edwardian carriages are not wheelchair accessible. Accompanying guide dogs are permitted, but this train is not suitable for other dogs.
