To celebrate 50 years' preservation of the Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway we will be holding additional events in 2013:

6th and 7th April - Re-enactment of some of the events which took place on the opening weekend in 1963, including special trains running to the original working timetable.  Hot food and a real ale bar will be available at Llanfair.  More information available on our Golden Jubilee Weekend page.

18th and 19th May -   Swinging Sixties  Weekend - step back into the swinging sixties and enjoy the nostalgia.   During the weekend, there will music at the stations, displays of sixties memorabilia, cars and other surprises.  More information available on our Swinging Sixties Weekend page.

18th May -  Sixties tribute Band 'The Suits' will be performing at Welshpool Town Hall  - enjoy a fantastic evening, dancing the night away to live 1960s band 'The Suits'.  Transport by train will be provided for people wishing to travel from Llanfair to Welshpool at the beginning of the evening and a bus will take everybody back at the end of the night.

31st August and 1st September - 50th Anniversary Gala.  A very special weekend for the narrow gauge enthusiast with an intensive timetable and all of our working locomotives in steam.
