Traditionally the setting up day with plenty of shunting activities; we've added a few trains for further enjoyment and to allow extra opportunities to travel on:

The African Train' with SLR Locomotive No.85 & the GCW-built Carriages

Start or finish your Steam Gala visit with the Re-united and restored Sierra Leone Railway stock.

The African Train, comprising former Sierra Leone Railway locomotive No.85 and recently renovated carriages 1066 and 1207, will be making two journeys during the Gala weekend.  As the locomotive is nearing the end of her boiler certificate it is anticipated that there will not be many opportunities to undertake such a journey.
